Background
The OCDSB is committed to providing a workplace in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, and work in an environment that is free of workplace harassment, bullying and disrespectful behaviour. Following the recent approved revisions to procedures PR.542.HR: Alleged Employee Misconduct toward a Student and PR.652.HR: Respectful Workplace, we are proposing updates to our Policy P.009.HR Respectful Workplace to align with these changes.
Proposed Revisions
The proposed revisions will better allow the OCDSB to create and foster a respectful workplace across the District, while reflecting the District’s commitment to acknowledging the respect and dignity of all employees. Key changes include:
- details about the kinds of behaviour that will not be tolerated in the District-wide workplace;
- removal of procedural content, which moved to the associated procedures;
- references to procedures for addressing a Poisoned Work Environment; and
- updates to definitions to align with evolved District and industry standards.
